The Wall è l'undicesimo album in studio del gruppo musicale britannico Pink Floyd, pubblicato il 30 novembre 1979. Il successo dell'album fu enorme in tutto il mondo. Tuttora rinomati gli effetti scenici usati nel tour che seguì, considerati da molti fan e critici innovativi per quel periodo. The Wall narra la storia della rockstar Pink (in gran parte ispirata alla vita dello stesso Roger Waters), segnata da avvenimenti tragici come la morte del padre quando il protagonista era ancora in fasce, la scuola disumanizzante, una madre iperprotettiva, le groupies, gli eccessi, il divorzio. Non reggendo il peso di tutto ciò, Pink si chiude dietro ad un muro (il "wall" del titolo) che lo isola dal mondo esterno facendolo però diventare completamente solo e accompagnandolo allo stesso tempo alla follia (richiamo a Syd barret, mai dimenticato dai Pink Floyd successivamente al suo abbandono).
